This is Chester’s second time shooting and killing a dog in his capacity as a police officer for The Town of Erie. Brittany Moore has disputed the Erie Police Department’s account of the incident, claiming that Ava had turned away from Chester on command and was walking towards her when Ava was gunned down. Officer Chester claims Ava was baring her teeth, hair on her neck was up and lunged at him.
Upon a necropsy at Colorado State University, Brittany Moore was told that the bullet entered Ava through her back and severed her spinal cord, inconsistent with the claims Officer Chester has made.”
